THE OPPORTUNITY.

Launching a new ship is a milestone. Launching one in front of a live audience is a performance. For the christening of Norwegian Viva, the challenge was to create a film that could command attention in a room full of people while introducing the ship, welcoming NCL’s new President, and capturing the energy of the moment. Rather than creating another traditional ship showcase, we developed a high-energy story designed to feel as entertaining as the event itself.

THE CREATIVE IDEA.

The idea was to treat the christening itself as part of the story. Instead of simply documenting the launch, we built a narrative around the energy, anticipation, and spectacle of the moment.

Every element was designed to work at the scale of a live event, from the pacing and visual reveals to the performances and transitions, while keeping Norwegian Viva at the center of the story. The result was a piece that could entertain first, while naturally introducing the ship and the people behind its next chapter.

THE RESULTS.

A ship christening is a once-in-a-lifetime moment. The creative challenge was making sure the film felt just as memorable. From big-stage storytelling to hands-on art direction, this was a project built to make an entrance.

MY ROLE.

I led the creative development of the christening film from concept through final delivery, developing the story and visual approach to create a piece that could command attention in a live-event environment. I shaped the concept, storyboarded and scripted the experience, and partnered with production to bring it to life on set. From pre-production through post, I guided the creative direction to ensure the final film balanced the energy of the event with the personality of Norwegian Viva.
